We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Financial Crime Compliance Manager, Wholesale Banking Hong Kong.
Primarily to support the Head of Wholesale Banking FCC to maintain an effective AML control framework and discharge the FCC responsibilities for Global Banking and Markets and Commercial Banking to ensure compliance with all relevant external laws & regulations, internal codes and policies and good market practices relating to AML and Sanctions.
Additional responsibilities include the provision of advice on FCC issues and liaison with senior line and local management in planning how FCC should be managed, operate and function in order to serve management and business needs.
The role needs to liaise with and support the country key stakeholders including regulatory compliance, legal, risks, onboarding functions and other Global Banking and Markets and Commercial Banking work stream to ensure processes are coordinated and implementation risks and issues are considered and addressed.
Support the regional and local implementation plans to quantify impacts and implement actions to address, manage and mitigate impacts of regulatory changes on Global Banking and Markets and Commercial Banking
Resolve all identified issues promptly, and escalate concerns to Senior FCC manager as appropriate to ensure timely awareness of any material concerns.
To support Head of Wholesale Banking FCC Hong Kong, to ensure that a robust AML procedural framework in the Region is in place for Global Banking and Markets and Commercial Banking and to monitor changes to towards business practices and products in light of new AML law and regulations to ensure that money laundering deterrence procedures and controls are adequate to cover them
To identify and minimize reputational risk in the Region arising from Global Banking and Markets and Commercial Banking FCC issues, in particular sanctions compliance issues.
Liaise with relevant Regional stakeholders within Global Banking and Markets and Commercial Banking and other Functional teams to provide expertise on all FCC matters from client issues to FCC Strategy
Maintain and observe all HSBC control standards and implement and observe the Group Compliance Policy, including the timely implementation of recommendations made by internal and external auditors and external regulators.
Tertiary education with some legal content plus a minimum of years experience in a financial services group operation with particular experience on money laundering, sanctions, compliance, audit, risk management, controls or external regulations.
Experience with Wholesale Banking related businesses and a good knowledge of related products and services.
Good interpersonal skills are essential as the jobholder will have to work in coordination with executives at all levels including the capacity to articulate the case for risk management and policy.
Ability to develop practical, cost effective solutions to complex issues.
Experience of dealing with regulatory matters and confident interaction with Regulators.
Experience of interpreting and analysing a large volume of information and data and provide succinct summary for management.
Experience of working within a matrixed environment preferred
