Pan-Asia special situation team, covering real estate debt and corporate deals
Based in Singapore
The Company seeks an Associate to join a real estate focused special situations team that sits within a larger real estate investment management business, and with a global portfolio. The team invests throughout Asia Pacific, seeking out special situations returns. Transactions to date include corporate (M&A) deals, credit investment and operating platforms in niche/alternative asset classes.
The team requires an Associate to work with local teams and originators, to thoroughly research new markets and perform in-depth due-diligence. The AVP will take a lead on execution of transactions, including involvement in complex and creative deal structuring. The role will require a detail-oriented candidate with strong real estate transactions experience (preferably including special situations or debt transactions) in Asia Pacific.
Independently develop and maintain financial models
Lead screening and execution of transactions; analysing, structuring, negotiating, recommending, and closing new deals (including working on market research, due diligence and legal documentation)
Prepare investment papers for Investment Committee
Assist with new investment ideas and themes
Manage portfolio investments; monitor performance, budget and business plans
Risk and performance analysis across the portfolio
Contribute to business development and relationship management efforts
Evaluate complex ideas and niche sectors and develop investment ideas.
Strong academic qualifications
At least four years of relevant working experience in a banking, investment and/or asset management role with a focus on real estate
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent analytical and financial modelling skills
Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
Ability to be creative and patient when researching new sectors or strategies
Ability to effectively multi-task across a wide range of projects and deliverables.
Be willing to travel across Asia.
Fluency in English, other Asian languages desirable.
