Financial Crime Threat Mitigation (FCTM) focuses on the specific financial crime threats the firm faces now and in the future, pioneering the techniques and technology that protect our business, our customers, and the many communities in which we operate, from the harms associated with financial crime. FCTM harnesses intelligence, analytics, technology, investigation, information sharing, and public-private partnership to achieve this end, always seeking the most effective and efficient means.
The jobholder will be aligned to the Fraud Risk function who are responsible for establishing and operating policies, standards, systems and other controls to prevent and detect fraud against the HSBC Group or its customers. Where fraud occurs, the Fraud Risk function is responsible for identifying control weaknesses or failures.
The jobholder is required to perform in-depth analysis, design, implement and monitor strategies/projects for:
The Banks Debit Card and Credit Card portfolios using Base SAS, SAS EFM and Falcon.
The Banks account opening / originations journey using a fraud referral / decisioning system and other layered tooling to identify fraud.
Monitoring fraud trends to mitigate loss while maintaining minimum genuine customer impact, therefore providing a positive customer experience and Best Place to Bank.
Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications
Experience of using relevant software packages, i.e. Base SAS (9.3)/SAS Enterprise Guide or similar analytical software is essential
Existing Fraud Risk / Operations experience
Knowledge of bank enquiry systems
Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of Credit & Debit cards
Capable of picking up, and applying, new ideas/concepts quickly
Excellent inter-personal, customer service and communication skills - written and verbal
Excellent organisation and analytical skills
Excellent decision-making / influencing skills
A motivated self-starter who has the ability to work effectively alone and under pressure
The ability to work accurately and to remain calm and controlled under pressure whilst performing all functions of the role
Adaptability and flexibility
Advanced PC skills and knowledge of Microsoft software, specifically Microsoft Excel
Enthusiasm and a positive 'can do' attitude
