Wholesale Lending Services Middle Office (WLS MO) exists within Commercial Banking and provides end to end loan origination, servicing support for loans & traditional trade finance and trading support. The scope of support by WLS covers Global Corporate Banking (GCB) clients as well as Commercial Banking (CB) clients located across 14 countries in APAC.
Role: The CB Operations Risk & Control Associate will be responsible for the delivery and oversight of Risk and Control agenda for APAC WLS. The person would facilitate strong control environment within the region, which would be consistent to the global requirements. He/ She will work closely with the lead to manage and achieve the set objectives.
Key Responsibilities: 1. Ensure adherence to policies and procedures for WLS across all APAC locations including Doc Management Policy, Records management, Privacy, Cross Border, Conflicts, etc. 2. Coordinate the implementation of control programs including RCSA, SOX test, Audits, Compliance Reviews, IAS processes, Migrations, etc. 3. Implement controls to mitigate process risks in case of Operational Errors / Near Misses/ Exceptions. 4. Rollout regular training programs to strengthen control environment around the transaction lifecycle, Risk Reporting, etc. 5. Minimize operational risks by reviewing workflows, sample or spot checks of processes against set procedures, setting up or changing existing procedures, etc. which would result in continuous improvement in the risk & control environment. 6. Review key risk indicator framework and facilitate business reviews. 7. Perform deep dive process reviews for new process migrations, system changes, change risk management, high risk & manual processes, NBIA initiatives, Robotics, etc. 8. Initiate, represent & support Risk and Control Projects for WLS. 9. Understand the local regulatory, compliance landscape and drive control & process adherence. Monitor any remediation arising out of changes in regulatory requirements. 10. Assess the impact of changes in the internal policies to WLS. Monitor and review actual and potential exceptions to policy requirements and initiate remedial actions. 11. Represent WLS on Control Forums and provide updates on control issues along with Scorecards, Dashboards, Key metrics, KPIs as applicable. 12. Monitoring outsourcing arrangements and overall business continuity.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with 8-12 plus years of experience in Banking Industry with Operations and/or Operations Risk Management. Knowledge of Commercial Banking products will be an added advantage.
