CIB F&BM - Currencies and Emerging Markets Product Controller
The Product Control team is responsible for independent P&L and Risk validation and reporting, US external reporting, balance sheet and capital management along with ensuring accuracy and integrity of the financial statements.
Roles & Responsibilities
The candidate would have strong analytical skills and attention to details. Past experience through either employment or education in financial markets, accounting or other numerical disciplines are preferable.
The role is within the Asia CEM Product Control space; responsibilities of which would include: -
Product controllers are responsible for the accuracy and integrity of Line of Business books and records. This responsibility encompasses:
Independent Trader Profit &Loss and Risk reporting, validation of P&L Explain along with meaningful Risk based commentaries
Daily reconciliation of trade estimate with actual P&L
Month-end close process, working in partnership with Financial Control, Valuation Control and Legal Entity Controllers
Ensuring correct risk sensitivity is sent to Value at Risk (VaR) and providing commentary on ensuing back testing results
Review and qualitatively validate LOB inputs into quarterly US external reporting along with providing meaningful trending analysis and commentary
Balance sheet and RWA reporting & analysis in line with CIB minimum standards
Preparation of commentary for trading results, linking trading revenues to desk strategies and changes in market conditions.
Ascertain a thorough understanding of the end-to-end technology platform and associated feeds/downstream systems.
Ensuring adherence to internal and external policies/regulation including Antitrust compliance.
Knowledge, skills and experience required:
Relevant degree with a proven strong academic background required
Experience in the financial services industry, or Big four Accounting firms
Accounting qualification preferred
The candidate should be self-driven and self-motivator
Strong analytical skills with sound understanding of basic accounting and finance concepts
Strong interpersonal/communication skills
Professional & collaborative attitude and a team player
Attention to detail and ability to work effectively to tight deadlines
Ability to challenge status quo, drive efficiency and innovation of processes
Excellent Excel knowledge and strong desktop skills
