Group: J.P. Morgan Asset Management's Infrastructure Investment Fund ("IIF") identifies, analyzes, acquires and manages infrastructure and infrastructure-related assets located generally in member countries of the Organizations for Economic Co-Operation and Development ("OECD"). IIF also assesses capital markets and controls investment risk in determining the optimal financing, diversification and disposition strategies for the managed assets.
Position: The Tax Group of IIF seeks a Vice President with extensive experience in real estate/infrastructure taxation to assist with all tax aspects of its direct and indirect infrastructure investments.
The Vice President will work closely with external advisors and consultants and report to the Tax Director.
Education: Bachelor's degree with major in accounting. C.P.A., M.S. in Tax or J.D. a plus but not required.
Understanding of tax matters on the establishment of funds, feeder entities, holding companies, etc.
Responsible for Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA), Common Reporting Standard (CRS), Country by Country (CbC) reporting requirements and implementation for the Fund and its portfolio companies.
Monitor federal, state and local and non-US jurisdiction income tax filing requirements of holding entities.
Assist in gathering necessary information from fund investments.
Prepare FAS 109 provisions and assist in FIN 48 memo.
Coordinate with product specialist investor information requirements for K-1 distribution.
Review quarterly and annual withholding tax filings (foreign, federal, state and local).
Review externally prepared foreign, federal, state, and local tax filings.
Coordinate and review annual 1099 filings.
Respond to notices from Federal, State and local tax authorities.
Maintain fund control logs and monthly withholding metrics.
Ensure proper supporting documentation is maintained and accessible internally.
Assist internal accountants with fixed asset reporting system and depreciation concepts.
Assist internal accountants with the preparation of tax based financial statements.
Work closely with Investor Relations team and our advisors with onboarding of new investors.
Prepare and/or review internal corporate databases for corporate regulatory sign off purposes
Tax modeling for acquisition/dispositions, internal financings and profit repatriation.
Other external/internal compliance and regulatory matters.
9-14 years of experience required (public accounting preferred).
Industry focus: Real Estate/Infrastructure
Strong working knowledge of corporations, partnerships, FDAP, ECI and UBTI.
Experience with tax implications on International funds.
Strong working knowledge/experience with tax provisions for funds
Understanding of investor tax positions and considerations in other countries.
Ability to research and resolve various tax reporting and structuring issues.
Extensive understanding of withholding requirements and FBAR reporting.
Technical Systems: RIA, CCH, BNA, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
CPA preferred, not required.
Regularly reports status of work to ensure issues are resolved and deadlines met.
