The US Equity Sales team is currently seeking a VP or Associate level candidate to serve as the Healthcare Sector Specialist. The position reports to Equity Sales and works closely with research, trading, sales and banking. Specialist coverage will include biotech, therapeutics and healthcare services. The candidate that fills this position will become the thought leader in the healthcare sector and market ideas to traders, analysts and portfolio managers at our buy-side counterparts.
Generating original content including investment ideas and market color with the goal of being recognized in the client broker Vote.
Communicating ideas and market color on daily morning call to sales force.
Marketing of the Specialist's and firm's products and ideas to long only and hedge fund investors around the globe.
Protecting the firm's capital through regular communication with the trading desk.
Interacting with other businesses on the trading floor outside cash such as derivatives and delta 1
Providing market insights to investment banking and syndicate and occasionally work on deal pitches.
A minimum of years 3-5 year of financial industry experience in research, capital markets or investment banking
Specific experience covering healthcare is preferred
Bachelors degree required
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong analytical skills
Strong problem solving abilities
Ability to work well in a team environment
