Our Relationship Management Team has responsibility for all depositary relationship matters. These include, but are not limited to day to day queries, relationship review meetings and change management. They also perform a project management role in relation to any fund changes.
Additional responsibilities include:
Delivering on the day to day local Depositary Services functions in accordance with Depositary best practices
Ensuring all Depositary obligations are successfully adhered to through establishing and monitoring applicable procedures and controls
Providing client support on a day to day and strategic (change) level, ensuring high quality and accurate service levels
Working with senior management to determine the strategy for local Depositary and support the overall effort in EMEA. Maintains and develops client relationships in order to achieve high levels of client satisfaction and to optimise Northern Trust's commercial positioning in the local Depositary Services industry
Attending due diligence and on-site inspections of relevant third parties where applicable
Serving as a liaison to the pan-European Depositary Operations function
Planning and implementing in new product areas
The successful candidate will benefit from having some of the following qualities:
Demonstrated experience across an array of financial areas such as depositary, asset management, fund accounting and middle office operations
Previous experience in custody banking, securities or investment management
Previous experience in risk management, legal and compliance
Thorough knowledge of the laws and regulations applicable to the fund and depositary banking industry
A good understanding of the local and broader EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) fund vehicles and their structures
Demonstrated knowledge of portfolio investment strategies
Highly effective communication and relationship management skills
Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate and work on cross functional teams
