Legal is responsible for managing the legal risk of Deutsche Bank Group. We partner with Risk, Regulation, Compliance, Group Audit and others to provide a proactive integrated risk management approach.

The Wealth Management APAC Legal team of Deutsche Bank AG is looking to recruit a lawyer to support its growing APAC Wealth Management business.
Working as part of a dynamic and collegiate team, the successful candidate will work with a rapidly expanding business focusing on a client base of high net worth and ultra-high net worth individuals, their family offices and corporate structures.
The successful candidate will be part of the Wealth Management APAC Legal team that assists with legal aspects of the day to day operations as well as the broader regulatory, product, project and governance aspects of the APAC Wealth Management business. The successful candidate will also be involved with regional and global projects covering regulatory changes, services/processes improvements and product developments.
As part of the wider Deutsche Bank Legal department, the successful candidate will also be expected to foster a collaborative working relationship with our departmental colleagues and represent the views of APAC Wealth Management on regional and bank-wide Legal department initiatives.
We are looking for a team-player who enjoys working with lawyers and non-lawyers alike. An ability to build relationships with business colleagues and other control functions is critical. The successful candidate will need to be comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment and able to provide actionable legal advice.
Knowledge of traditional/electronic banking, structured lending and/or derivatives is desirable. An aptitude for critical thinking and a robust but pragmatic approach to managing legal risk while facilitating business objectives is, however, essential.
Legal and regulatory advice as well as transaction support to the business divisions and infrastructure groups of the APAC Wealth Management business, including:
Advising on general private banking products/services
Advising and coordinating on enforcement actions including marking margin calls, drafting closeout documentation, restructuring agreements
Advising on marketing/investments in private equity investments and other complex pooled investment vehicles
Advising on general cross-border marketing and licensing issues
Advising on fund distribution and placing agreements with third party intermediaries including review of offering documents, prospectuses, etc.
Reviewing/drafting private banking documentation and standard forms as a result of product and service developments
Reviewing/drafting documentation and advising on legal/regulatory issues across the whole private banking space covering: plain vanilla finance/structured finance; equity and fixed income products/structured products/derivatives; investment management/investment advisory/brokerage business; life and pensions products; retail/non-retail funds; real estate referral/financing; wealth planning; e-banking; etc.
Assist with implementation of new products/projects/business lines
Advising on legal issues relating to client on-boarding, accounts operation/maintenance
Dealing with disciplinary actions, client complaints, internal/regulatory investigations and litigations
Law degree from reputable university and qualified lawyer in a relevant jurisdiction
Fluent written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin)
+3PQE, preferably gained either in private practice with a reputable law firm or in-house with a financial institution
Able to commercially apply legal knowledge
Work well independently as well as in a team
Willingness to learn
