The Role Responsibilities
Risk Data Quality (RDQ) is a Group function which resides within Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and is responsible for the integrity and quality of data that contributes to measurements of Credit Risk, Market Risk, Country Risk, and Retail Credit Risk. The team provides governance and control over risk data to ensure adherence to both internal policies and external regulatory requirements (such as BCBS 239), and that data is fit-for-purpose for risk measurements and group reporting.
Governance Administration of monthly Data Quality Forums and providing risk data governance in collaboration with stakeholders through:
Escalation of data breaks and exceptions to the forum and governance committees for deliberation.
Establishing risk data quality framework including:
Adopting BCBS 239 principles in data quality management
Identify and establish stakeholder engagement for relevant data quality processes
Define Reconciliation model and document resolution process
Propose management-level data metrics and relevant analysis to provide insight to data quality standards and identify potential issues and impact.
Perform tracking and monitoring of identified issues, and implementing resolution plans, as required.
Perform and establish reconciliation process of key data elements between source feeds and Risk systems to ensure data completeness and alignment.
Establish checks and controls procedures to ensure data integrity, and in adherence to Group Operational Risk Framework.
Investigate and resolve risk data breaks and data related issues.
Prioritize system enhancements with Technology/Project Team and active participation in testing.
Provide guidance and training on new reconciliation processes and system enhancements
Contribute to the development of risk data quality capabilities, skills and infrastructure to meet ongoing needs and plans
Provide business requirements to system enhancements to improve work efficiency incorporating controls and error mitigation functions
Our Ideal Candidate
University graduate, with 5+ years relevant experience in a Banking / Finance related role
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
A self-driven, keen learner able to drive new initiatives and concepts
Ability to work effectively, collaborate and coordinate efforts in a multiple stakeholder environment
Strong analytical and presentation skills
Knowledge and or experience in Risk and Banking products is an advantage
Technical experience in coding, such as SQL, VBA and R/Python, preferred
Experience with data analytics & Business Intelligence tools is an advantage
