CIMB is looking for subject matter expert on operational risk & compliance to identify, analyze and manage the operational risk, regulatory compliance and governance at Transforming Customer Journey department. The role will promote, lead and manage the culture and practice of operational risk, legal, regulatory compliance and ethical standards in the conduct of assigned job functions and to ensure compliance with the laws and regulations at all times. Ensure the effectiveness of the Group's management of legal, regulatory compliance and technology risk issues through the application of the appropriate and effective frameworks and procedures and ensure that legal, regulatory compliance and technology risks are anticipated, identified, escalated and reported to stakeholders, mitigated and managed so as to avoid any financial and reputational loss. Details of responsibilities are as follow:
Identify shortcomings in the current operating systems and their causes and devise ways to improve operational discipline to reduce risk through the usage of mathematical and statistical knowledge.
Develop risk assessment reports and recommendations for the senior management.
Strengthen operational risk policies and procedures to ensure they reflect best practice Drive governance awareness on internal and external compliance policies and guidelines. To instill governance and 'risk aware' culture with the team.
Aggregate and analyze risk events reported to develop approaches to counter them and develop a playbook for similar scenarios.
Advise management on identified risk-events and recommend improvements to ensure they don't reoccur.
Closely monitor the implementation of action plans to address key risk indicators.
Participate, when necessary, in Anti-Fraud committees which includes fraud correspondents across the organization.
Participate as SME in the Product and Journey Teams and provide guidance on risk, regulatory and compliance matters and serve as the conduit between the Group Risk and Group Legal and Compliance Team.
Candidate must have at least 10 years' experience in Financial Services / Service Industry with deep understanding of key end to end process within the industry
Proven track record and solid experience with Risk management or Compliance role within a financial institution.
Exceptionally organized and a self-starter who can work independently and in a team environment.
Sound understanding of banking systems, products, policies and deep knowledge in norm context and regulatory requirements.
Ability to work with multiple stakeholders across functions and business units.
Proactive, analytical and capable of influencing and providing decision support.
An effective team Player, leader and mentor.
