We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Director, Country Oversight.
This is a role within the ASP CMB Control Office that act as a First Line of Defence and work closely with Risk & Control Owners to ensure the execution of operational risk management activities, as defined by the Operational Risk Management Framework for CMB. They provide expert operational risk advice and input, and control monitoring for CMB & its Control Owners.
The ability to translate regulatory changes into business-ready implementation programmes that deliver best practices to complex operating environments timely and robustly.
Ability to review emerging and latent risks end-to-end across complex processes and operating environments, including credit, operational, legal, product and transactional risks.
Work with Control Owners across the region, leading the development of action plans based on a nuanced understand of the regulatory landscape across a range of complex markets & risk taxonomies
Ability to build senior relationships by communicating, influencing and negotiating effectively with senior executives, Country Chief Operating Officers, 2 nd /3 rd Lines of Defense & internal management teams across the entire ASP region (Home Market/Scale/Network markets)
Ability to use initiative to resolve issues, whilst dealing with a diverse range of stakeholders and team members
Experience of building and maintaining strong working relationships across a globally distributed matrix organisation
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels across the Group. Championing and embedding best practice management

Previous experience in risk management within a global organisation, working across cultures, within a complex matrix structure and across a broad regulatory landscape.
Ability to present complex issues across a range of processes, controls and operating environments confidently and concisely to Executives using simple language to accommodate globally distributed stakeholders.
Ability to build enduring relationships with senior stakeholders across the region through effective communication, influence and negotiation.
Skilled decision-maker, making considered and timely decisions particularly when under pressure to resolve issues holistically and comprehensively.
Risk and control subject matter expertise across a range of risks, including-but not limited to-credit, operational, legal, product and transactional risks.
Ability to distil complex and varied information into useful, insightful and concise recommendations and solutions.
Ability to identify, assess and communicate the need for risk mitigation across a complex group of stakeholders.
