Position: The Associate will work in a high paced environment supporting Distressed, Trade Claims and HY bonds.
Primary Daily Responsibilities:
Work closely with the Leverage Credit traders and sales team to support day to day trading activity
Identify and resolve trading issues
Work with multiple teams at Jefferies including controllers, operations, compliance, fixed income management
Perform trade allocations/breakdowns
Perform position and PnL reconciliation
Monitor exceptions queues to ensure intraday business is running efficiently
Assist with Par/Distress Loan Settlement and Reconciliation
Assist with the preparation of daily, monthly, and ad-hoc reports. For example:
Daily Break Reports
Euro clear-DWAC's 144a to Euroclear
Factor updates on bonds
Journals-work with Product Control and Financial Control-Affirm coupon payments
Perform cash settlements and confirm payments on future upfront/interest/termination fees
Set up New Issues FINRA Gateway
Set up New securities on systems
144a to public
Distressed Reorg's- going through financials to figure out new securities
Upon notice by the reorg department process all Exchanges, Tenders, Redemptions and Calls
Process all PIK payments and move the mark to the average to offset P&L
Notify the desk of relevant action in their books
Update monthly pricing
Qualifications Required Background/Skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Detail oriented, Team orientation, multi-task completion, accountability
2-5 years of relevant experience. (Fixed Income Operations/Middle Office experience)
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Series 7 and 63 preferred but not required; however, incumbent will be required to successfully pass both exams to retain the position
