We're looking for an Associate to join the established Octopus Compliance function, with a remit for providing regulatory advice and support to Octopus Investments, Octopus Healthcare, Octopus Property, Octopus Ventures and Octopus Labs.
Particular emphasis will be placed on providing a Compliance Advisory service to the busy Operations department, which services the Octopus Investments and Octopus Labs entities.
Essential Job Functions
Build and strengthen relationships based on providing clear, reliable and consistent advice around regulatory developments and issues;
Assist in maintaining/implementing compliance policies and procedures;
Provide support and training to staff across the various Octopus entities.
Assist in the implementation of our SM&CR project;
Assist with the implementation and management of the firm's anti-financial crime policy and procedures, providing advice, direction and training to the Operations and Sales functions, and approving high-risk accounts referred to Compliance for guidance.
Job Specific Experience/Technical Skills/Abilities
An understanding of financial services is desirable, via a proven track record in a similar advisory role within an asset management firm. Alternatively, a solid background in Compliance Monitoring, with a desire to move into an Advisory role may be considered.
Detailed knowledge of FCA rules and regulations.
The ability to work closely with Senior Management, with a flexible and adaptable approach, being robust where necessary;
A commercial outlook, with the motivation and drive to be successful in a competitive industry;
The willingness to be hands-on, as necessary, and to add value and propose solutions beyond the basic expectations of compliance.
