Global Market Infrastructures (GMI) is a global function within the Chief Administrative Office (CAO) of the Corporate and Investment Bank (CIB). GMI is responsible for managing J.P. Morgan's network of agent banks and financial market infrastructures (FMI) to meet J.P. Morgan's requirements for cash and securities services for proprietary and client activities in over 100 markets. The network of providers includes banks, subcustodians, brokers, payment systems, central counterparties, securities depositories and check clearing systems. GMI is comprised of several teams including Market and Infrastructure Management (MIM), Network Client Consulting (NCC), Network Performance Management (NPM), Information Management and Delivery (IMD), Agent Change Management (ACM) and Practice Development and has a global presence in key locations to provide market coverage. Within GMI, the Market and Infrastructure Management (MIM) team leverages the standards of the J.P. Morgan's Third Party Oversight (TPO) program to select, monitor and off board providers as required by our various lines of business and to meet J.P. Morgan's regulatory (TPO) requirements. In addition to managing the commercial relationships with our providers and conducting oversight visits or calls, we also gather market intelligence to develop a deep understanding of the markets we service for the benefit of our clients and lines of business. Roles and Responsibilities:
Support the establishment and oversight of relationships with agent banks and FMIs, including the commercial and financial aspects of the relationship
Assist with periodic due diligence reviews to address TPO requirements with support from other GMI teams and functional partners.
Support the relevant requirements for the New Business Initiative Approval and Agent Bank Initiative Approval processes for new provider relationships.
Support NPM and NCS to respond to operational, regulatory and audit requirements or client questions.
Participate in regional or global projects requiring information from agent banks and FMIs.
Help coordinate requests for information (RFIs) and requests for proposal (RFPs) to assess and select new providers or to assess other services offered in a specific market or region and work with ACM to transition to new providers.
Assist in the preparation of the Recovery and Resolution plans.
Capture market information/intelligence which is shared with internal business partners and assist with the preparation of external newsflashes for clients.
Previous experience working with or dealing with agent banks, prime brokers, carry brokers and FMIs and TPO is an advantage.
Knowledge of the CIB and/or Asset & Wealth Management lines of business is beneficial.
Securities, cash management and payments experience in the financial services industry is beneficial.
Network Management or buying experience is preferred but not required.
Aptitude for risk management, compliance and oversight and control.
Ability to build relationships and influence others.
Excellent communication and analytical skills.
Strong Microsoft Office skills.
Motivated self-starter, with the ability to pick up and learn new skills and knowledge quickly.
Attention to detail combined with an ability to absorb information and form an opinion or conclusion.
