PIMCO is seeking to hire an experienced Business Development Manager to further develop the distribution of our alternatives products in Latin America. Strategies in this area include hedge funds (e.g. Macro, Long/Short Credit, quantitatively-driven approaches (e.g. Alt Risk Premia, Trend following), and opportunistic private credit/ Real Estate vehicles.
This position will be responsible for generating new business in PIMCO's alternative investment strategies across existing and prospective investors partnering with colleagues from different areas. The Manager will be part of PIMCO's Latin America & Caribbean Group.
The role is to be based in New York City, NY or Sao Paulo, Brazil.
This position requires a dynamic and collaborative professional. The successful candidate will:
Have a proven history of selling alternatives funds
Illustrate the ability to develop and monetize strong relationships with institutional investors, GWM platforms and family offices
Demonstrate the ability to earn the trust and credibility of fellow Account Managers, Portfolio Managers, Product Strategists and other PIMCO professionals and to collaborate effectively
Be a thought leader, able to identify new business opportunities and support PIMCO initiatives to grow our alternatives platform
4-8 years of institutional business development experience across alternatives including private equity style vehicles and customized strategies as well as hedge funds
Real estate strategies (lending and real estate equity)
Structured credit strategies
Alternative risk premia strategies
Education An advanced degree such as an MBA is preferred for this role though candidates with a CFA and CAIA designation will also be considered.
Responsibilities The Manager for alternative investments will be responsible for gathering assets and generating new business in PIMCO's alternative investment strategies.
Develop and execute a business plan in conjunction with Account Managers to drive growth in PIMCO's alternative investment strategies
Effectively source new clients into PIMCO's alternative investment strategies
In partnership with account managers and product strategists, work with institutional investors, GWM Platforms and Family Offices to assess investment needs and recommend suitable solutions
Contribute to efforts to promote PIMCO alternatives though conferences, events and other branding strategies
This individual will:
Demonstrate the ability to organize and communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
Possess excellent knowledge of alternative investment strategies and portfolio management
Appreciate the institutional sales process and familiarity with the multiple players involved
