This role is responsible for managing a team of Data Specialists and Senior Data Specialists who maintain and improve databases that are made available online to subscribers. The team will be assigned a geographical coverage or area of specialism where they will search and document information on Mergers and Acquisitions. The Asst Director - Data Specialist is responsible for assisting with client data-related requests and will manage ad-hoc projects as directed by management.
Manage a geographical team of 8 - 10 Data Specialist and Senior Data Specialist who are responsible for maintaining the company's historical databases that are available online to subscribers in a timely and accurate manner.
Provide top quality documentation relating to internal data handling procedures and any information regarding the collection methods, definitions, and frequently asked questions.
Maintain quality standards by quality checking Data Specialists and Senior Data Specialists
Provide coaching and training to junior staff.
Work with peers and senior managers to solve problems and further develop efficiencies within the group with a view to ongoing continuous improvement.
Take initiative and handle special projects in coordination with other groups and management.
Participate in weekly production meetings / monthly team meetings to ensure information is passed on via the established up and down communication channels.
This is a permanent role working for Zephus, a Bureau van Dijk subsidiary based in Salford Quays. This role focus' on data research for the Americas and therefore the working hours are 10:30am - 6:30pm daily.
Proven work experience in this sector or other related fields
Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (word, outlook, excel etc) and bespoke software
Good organizational, verbal and written communications skills
Ability to multi-task and adapt to shifting priorities
Previous managerial experience or equivalent qualification is essential
Fluency in Spanish would be an advantage
