The Software Engineering Solutions group aims to mature the Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) LOB engineering ecosystem, improve engineering efficiency and software fitness so that technologists across CIB are more efficient and productive in their delivery for the business. Within SES, we incubate, facilitate, and rollout strategic tools, processes, and solutions that have CIB- and, sometimes, firm-wide impact. Currently, among others, we are managing the firm-wide rollout out the strategic Q&A solution in Stack Overflow Enterprise, designing and executing a Proof of Concept (PoC) to evaluate appropriateness of BlueOptima's solution for calculating standardized coding effort, and engineering and piloting a Linux Desktop solution as a viable, standardized alternate for Technologists.
To help support these and similar programs we are looking for a talented technologist cum program manager who can blend their knowledge of how software is delivered, with a strong desire to take charge and manage the design and delivery of programs that positively impact those software delivery processes and tools on a CIB- and firm-wide scale.
At least 5 years of recent hands-on development - preferably in wide range of technologies, frameworks, and languages so you can appreciate the similarities and uniqueness of software tooling and processes within the enterprise
Well-versed in Agile and preferable experience in software development workflows across a range of teams sizes
Ideally, hands-on experience or at least a good understanding of modern architectural patterns including services, containers, and reusable frameworks
We are going to be trying a lot of new products - you are going to need to be handy with figuring out installation, configuration, and generally getting vendor products working within the constraints of our environment. It will be very handy to have good scripting skills and a strong eye for data quality, etc.
Computer Science or Software Engineering degree a plus
Project/Program Management skills:
Detail-oriented, able to follow through and sweat the small stuff when it matters
At the same time, when needed, able to mentally zoom-out from the details to see the big picture, understanding that we have to serve multiple stakeholders, and be able to explain and manage rationale for tradeoffs
Comfortable juggling multiple tasks and keep overall program moving in the right direction - comfortable in an environment with evolving priorities
Get delivery done especially depending on contributions from multiple partner teams - being able to get tasks accomplished even when you don't have direct control of resources is going to be a key ask for this role Our Corporate & Investment Bank relies on innovators like you to build and maintain the technology that helps us safely service the world's important corporations, governments and institutions. You'll develop solutions for a bank entrusted with holding $18 trillion of assets and $393 billion in deposits. CIB provides strategic advice, raises capital, manages risk, and extends liquidity in markets spanning over 100 countries around the world.
