The Business Continuity Manager is an integral part of the overall Continuity Program. In this role you will act as the main point of contact supporting State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) EMEA business areas for Incident Management, Contingency & Recovery activities. You will work closely with the local business areas across our EMEA offices, the Global Head of Business Continuity & Data Privacy, and the Business Continuity Directors in APAC and North America. This entails the collection and accurate identification of critical functions; formulation, implementation and effective validation of recovery strategies; and mitigation of risks and exposures.
This position reports to the VP and Head of SSGA Business Continuity and Data Privacy Program.
You will act as relationship manager for EMEA and continuity subject matter expert providing clarity, definition and guidance to business areas in accordance with SSGA and Corporate standards
You will engage with the business area Team Leads to perform the annual business impact analysis/traceability matrix, formulate recovery strategies, and validate contingency plans are comprehensive and effective
You will facilitate business unit test activities, test results and ensure applications are properly identified, risk rated and validated through recovery testing
Manage and escalate events within EMEA Region invoking the Incident Management Team as necessary
You will document inventories and handle data entry within the business continuity software (BCMS)
You will actively engage as primary (or backup) to lead or provide assistance as necessary during off hours for management of incidents that may impact SSGA's business
You will carry a smart device and be available for incident management purposes
You will conduct notifications, as necessary, using the notification system during Incident Management events and/or testing
You will partner with team members to develop and coordinate dashboards and reports based on events, tracking of activities and other dashboards as necessary for increased management awareness
You will assist in development and handling of procedures to align with industry practice, corporate risk controls and regulatory requirements
Preferred understanding of Investment Management and/or Asset Management organization
BCI or DRII certifications in crisis management or business continuity are a plus
Proficiency with MS Office Applications
Strong time management, detail orientation and organizational skills
Strong communication and social skills
Ability to deliver briefings and presentations to senior management and clients
Ability to interact professionally with all levels of the organization
