Global Internal Audit provides independent, objective assurance to management and the risk and audit committees as to whether the framework of risk management, control, and governance processes, as designed and represented by management, is adequate and functioning.
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Regional Head of Retail Banking & Wealth Management Audit, Asia Pacific.
Initiating and leading the delivery of integrated audits across all significant markets, some major and/or highly complex, based on the critical assessment of the business, and the governance, risk and internal control frameworks.
Driving the coordination and collaboration of a consistent delivery of audit work across RBWM (Retail Banking & Wealth Management) focusing on Asia Pacific including providing subject matter expertise advice and support to relevant country audit teams in their delivery of RBWM audits in smaller markets.
Own and maintain the Asia Pacific RBWM audit universe and associated annual audit plan process and play an integral role in the development of the Global RBWM annual audit plan.
Continuously monitor the risk and control environment to identify emerging adverse trends and significant issues by tracking key indicators and other management information.
Leadership of people development and ongoing performance management for direct reports located across three country sites. This includes responsibility for coaching structures, timely feedback, effective and innovative resourcing, recruitment of new talent and management of identified skills gaps.
Engaging with and providing strategic advice to both internal and external stakeholders by utilising knowledge of the Asia Pacific RBWM business and its governance, risk and regulatory frameworks.
Develops and maintains strong working relationships, as required, with External Auditors to ensure the effectiveness of service delivery and appropriate coordination on the testing of SOX related internal controls within the business lines.
Delivery of Asia Pacific RBWM Regional and selected in-country Risk Management Committee reporting and attendance at all meetings to present audit results, trends, emerging issues and other relevant matters of importance.Support the audit management and administration of the function both Regionally and Globally.
Ensure that all management responses and actions, to audit issues raised, are proactively followed up and implemented as required to mitigate the relevant risks.
Extensive experience of Internal Audit leadership roles in Financial Services, with strong preference for previous Retail Banking and/or Wealth Management subject matter expertise.
Relevant professional qualification in accounting or auditing with a broad and comprehensive understanding of financial services, risk and control concepts working in banking / financial institution is an advantage.
Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to build constructive and effective stakeholder relationships.
Fluency in verbal and written English.
Willingness to travel across the region.
