Reporting directly to the Head of Client Services (UK), Trustee and Depositary Services, this role forms part of the TDS customer facing team and requires a high degree of technical, relationship management and inter-personal skills. The successful applicant will have a current and broad understanding of the trustee market, the associated regulatory industry and be prepared to research the introduction of new rules or changes to existing regulations and offer interpretation, impact analysis and guidelines both internally and externally.
The successful applicant will act as focal point to allocated clients for all matters, proactively managing all client issues through to completion, escalating any potential issues which may negatively impact unit-holders, the client, the fund or HSBC.
The jobholder has responsibility for representing the TDS product internally and externally and supporting the growth aspirations of the business in the UK.
Support the Head of TDS UK in account management and the development and maintenance of the strategic plan.
Support the UK sales team through providing content for Trustee and Depositary Services product literature, presentation material and RFP database.
Work with colleagues to ensure that TDS optimises the opportunity from products developed elsewhere in HSBC.
Maintain an awareness of market change and environment on client product & service requirements. Maintain a high level awareness of competitor activity and product positioning. Establish and maintain relationships with key journalists and market commentators and contribute interviews, articles and conference presentations.
Responsibility for ensuring the TDS products meet with HSBC's risk and operational procedures and any legal requirements.
Responsibility for contributing to TDS strategy to maintain a premier quality reputation, internally and externally, for product development and client service.
Represent TDS at local business approval committees as required.
Minimise reputational risk to the business by representing the TDS business with authority and to the required professional standards in dealings with prospects and third parties. Highlight regulatory risk when appropriate.
Understand, follow and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures
Organise, Chair and provide quality minutes for client service review meetings.
Understand each allocated client fully, including fund types and unusual features or investments, profitability, organisation and contacts at all levels.
Analyse Client risk assessment data and provide quality commentary within client reporting, delivering to client within an agreed timetable.
Issue annual/quarterly Board Reports for Investment Trust clients ensuring a review of any significant items has been completed. Present to the Investment Trust Board as required.
Hold documented 1:1 meetings with the client operations managers on a monthly basis.
Act as a focal point to allocated clients and develop quality relationships.
Ensure prospectus reviews are completed in line with documented procedures.
Ensure quality review of all fund documentation in accordance with procedures ensuring any matters of conflict/concern are appropriately managed.
Manage client projects effectively and efficiently.
Act as alternative Trustee Manager to a number of nominated relationships
Proactively assist the Head of Client Services (UK) as directed.
Client monitoring visits - attend pre-meeting planning, opening and closing meeting. Review suggested report content and assist in the resolution of any aged outstanding matters.
