Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Senior BCM Manager .
To ensure senior management, business recovery coordinators and other members of staff of the designated business areas and asset classes are appropriately trained in BCM.
To act as the subject matter expert on BCM for the designated business areas and asset classes in the location.
To act as the local subject matter expert on the designated business areas and asset classes within the BCM team and to contribute to the global BCM strategy for them.
To support the designated business areas and asset classes in performing Business Impact Analysis.
To ensure that the designated business areas and asset classes have Business Continuity Plans in place that are appropriate to the scale, nature and complexity of the function and that these plans are appropriately, and regularly, tested.
To ensure that all designated business areas and asset classes have effective procedures for escalating Major Incidents to the appropriate Crisis Management Committee.
To contribute, as required, to HSBC Regional BCM Planning, Emergency Management Teams or equivalent.
To prepare reports for the GBM BCM Steering Committees, Business Controls Committees and other management forums, as required.
To ensure that Management Information reflects the risks as well as the quality and effectiveness of local BCM.
To lead cross site recovery programs across the designated business areas and asset classes, as required.
To ensure that that local third party risks are appropriately identified, assessed and managed.
To liaise with auditors and regulators, as required.
To ensure that designated business areas and asset classes are aware of and compliant with any regulations impacting on BCM.
To represent HSBC on sector and subject matter BCM forums as directed by the Regional head of BCM.
To understand, follow and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which you are involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy.
To maintain HSBC Internal Control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
To be aware of the Operational Risk scenario associated with the role and act in a manner that takes account of operational risk considerations.
Business continuity experience at a financial institution, preferably covering Trading environment, Investment Banking, Asset Management or Private Banking.
High degree of self-motivation, creativity, initiative, enthusiasm, tenacity and attention to detail.
Sound analysis, judgment and decision making skills.
Good presentation skills.
Ability to work on own and manage priorities.
Ability to work effectively under pressure.
Good interpersonal skill.
Articulate and able to communicate at all levels.
Good working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products, especially Excel and SharePoint.
IT and project management knowledge preferable.
Knowledge or experience of the Global Banking and Markets business beneficial.
