Financial Crime Risk is a Global Function that brings together all areas of financial crime risk management at HSBC and is dedicated to implementing the most effective global standards to combat financial crime. The function has been set up in a way that enables us to build on our achievements in managing financial crime risk effectively across the bank and continue to strengthen financial crime detection, anti-money laundering, sanctions and anti-bribery and corruption compliance.
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Regional Head of Investigative Reporting Quality Assurance. Principal responsibilities
Establishing a robust Quality Assurance culture within Investigative Reporting that focuses on improving the quality of investigations, providing structured feedback on an ongoing basis to country team leads and individual investigators and eliminating non value add activities
Lead the Quality Assurance function, preserving its independence but ensuring its contribution to the overall direction of Investigative Reporting investigations, ensuring a responsive structure exists within the Quality Assurance process for providing constructive and consistent feedback to Investigators, Team Leaders and all relevant Stakeholders
Establish effective relationships with appropriate Investigative Reporting management.
Assess and advise on Quality Assurance aspects of process and system change requests, ensuring a robust Quality Assurance change management governance structure exists that provides sufficient consultation and discussion with stakeholders.
Liaise with the Regional Investigative Reporting Heads, Financial Crime Risk Operations, Line of Business and all relevant Stakeholders to implement agreed management actions to improve, manage and maintain Investigative Reporting investigations quality.
Lead the Quality Assurance management of process performance in country, including robust error or defect analysis such as cost and quality based on the standard Quality Assurance methodology and risk assessment.
Review, question and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate the resolution of differences in productivity and Management Information across regions.
Ensure adequate development and training is provided to the team to develop skills and competencies of Quality Assurance staff
Ensure employees adhere to the established operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC or regulatory standards and policies.
Ensure all actions take account of the likelihood of operational risk occurring and address any areas of concern in conjunction with operations management and the appropriate department.
Continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.
Substantial experience working in Anti Money Laundering and Financial Crime Risk, including Transaction Monitoring and Suspicious Activity Report filing.
Knowledge of Customer Due Diligence and client reviews, including relationship reviews on a periodic or trigger basis.
Experience in undertaking investigations or analysis into customer activity
Ability to analyze large amounts of data efficiently, draw conclusions on what the data means and action accordingly
Experience in managing a successful team in a quick response environment.
Experience in compilation of reports and Suspicious Activity Reporting experience.
Strong spoken and written communication skills with experience of sharing information effectively, in a clear, concise and professional manner.

Strong organizational skills. Collaborative working style.
Experience of personally complying with business processes, rules and regulations.
Highly effective in working with all levels of management and staff.
Strong relationship management skills with the ability to manage & engage multiple stakeholders, meet their expectations, negotiate in situations of conflicting interests and influence key decision makers in a positive manner.
Previous Anti Money Laundering experience within a universal service bank preferred. Auditing or assurance experience is an advantage.
ICA ML or ACAMS qualification is an advantage.
