As part of Global Risk, Regulatory Compliance ensures adherence to applicable regulations and standards by setting the policies which cover HSBC's regulatory requirements, and mitigate conduct and reputational risk issues. The team strives to remain ahead of the regulatory change agenda and ensures the business understands the implications and is prepared for change. It monitors how the Global Businesses and Functions manage their responsibilities with regard to complying with the regulations and helps resolve compliance deficiencies.
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Senior Regulatory Compliance Manager International.
Support the Head of Regulatory Compliance International to implement strategies, policies and systems that ensure that the exposure to regulatory and reputational risks in Asia Pacific is managed and controlled.
Monitor, track and communicate major proposals for regulatory change and regulatory and law enforcement trends for all areas of compliance risk other than in relation to financial crime. Assisting the Head of International Regulatory Compliance to communicate these proposals and trends to senior management in Asia Pacific to support and facilitate a strategic appraisal of those trends as well as relevant opportunities and risks.
To work constructively and collaboratively with the Heads of Global Business Regulatory Compliance, Shared Services and Global Business Business Risk and Control Manager functions to manage the overall compliance risks in Asia Pacific.
Assist Head of Regulatory Compliance International in managing all material compliance and reputational issues in Asia Pacific.
Provide advice and support on compliance and reputational matters to the Regulatory Compliance function, Regional management and Global Regulatory Compliance.
Coordinate the activities of the Regional Risk Management Committees and Regulatory Compliance and Global Business management committees in Asia Pacific.
Discharge the roles and responsibilities as advised by the Head of Regulatory Compliance International.
Significant experience as a regulator, senior compliance manager or equivalent within a global firm, in the financial services industry.
Detailed and extensive knowledge of the HSBC Group structure, its business and personnel, and HSBC corporate culture.
Significant leadership experience and an experienced strategic thinker.
Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, with experience of dealing with executives at all levels.
Ability to develop practical, cost effective solutions to complex global issues.
A legal or formal accountancy qualification or background in one of these a risk or audit discipline.
