As an Associate Director, you will be joining a growing team which provides global financial advisory and support for transactions across Macquarie's global businesses. Working with the Division Director, you will oversee the efficient operation of the Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) team globally and have direct management of team members.
You will be the key lead for deal teams to assess the financial implications of complex and significant transactions and to connect the dots across accounting, funding, economic capital and tax streams. You will advise on the structure of transactions, identify and conclude on accounting implications, challenge financial models and commercial returns, and assess the financial control and risks. You will also make recommendations to senior stakeholders on the approval of new transactions.
The core operating groups that you will support include Macquarie Capital and Macquarie Asset Management, giving you exposure to transactions in Australia and offshore.
Your strong stakeholder management skills will be used to develop relationships and work collaboratively across the organisation with Business Unit CFOs, Group Financial Controllers, Group Finance, Business Unit Finance, Tax, Treasury and the Risk Management Group.
To succeed in this role, you will possess both a strong technical accounting background and commercial acumen with transaction experience in a chartered or commercial environment. You will also have strong people management skills, as this role will have direct oversight of team members. Experience in financial modelling and tax is highly beneficial. Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Finance or similar; and a CA qualification (or similar) is required.
