Key Responsibilities for the AML Optimization Officer include:
Working in partnership with compliance users to develop and drive initiatives that transform and modernize the capabilities and services of the compliance monitoring function
Working with compliance to define specifications for transaction monitoring models
Continually assessing current and future state of surveillance platforms, policies, and procedures
Supporting all review and audit functions; creating a model inventory list and ensuring all models are reviewed
Designing and implementing risk-based alert scoring
Addressing and resolving logic and configuration in monitoring scenarios
Tuning, calibration and optimization of AML models for regulatory compliance
Using advanced statistical techniques like clustering and regression analysis to ensure appropriate rigor around optimization process
Utilizing visualization techniques to showcase the results of analysis in concise presentations to stakeholders
Defining and documenting the methodology/approach in a clear and concise manner
Maintaining standards for segmentation methodology, scenario tuning methodology, peer grouping, BTL/ATL (below/above the Line) sampling methodology
A successful AML Optimization Officer should have:
Bachelor's/ Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, MIS/Information Management or equivalent
Exposure to financial crime compliance covering business lines like correspondent banking, wealth management, brokerage, trade, and asset management
Previous relevant experience with AML Transaction Monitoring systems like Mantas or Actimize
Demonstrated experience in Oracle, SQL, SharePoint, Jira
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
Ability to create and deliver impactful presentations
Ability to interpret complex requirements and be a self-starter
Statistical/data analytical skills with knowledge of statistical techniques and methodologies
Software experience such as SAS, Python, R, or Matlab
CAMS certification will be a plus
