My client a global financial services group, is looking to recruit a Data Protection Officer who will manage the regional implementation, maintenance of, and adherence to data protection policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities: * Informing and advising on obligations pursuant to the company on data protection, regional policies and procedures relevant to data protection and applicable privacy laws and regulations. * Managing and responding to client enquiries on data protection matters, including managing responses to subject rights requests. * Cooperating and communicating as required with supervisory authorities, including ensuring adherence to any reporting obligations. * Monitoring applicable privacy regulations and applicable internal policies and procedures relating to the protection of personal data, including the assignment of responsibilities, awareness-raising and training of staff involved in processing operations, and any internal and external audits. * Managing local and regional inventory of processing activities to ensure comprehensiveness and ensuring stakeholders are updating in line with business changes. * Review and advise on data privacy impact assessments (DPIA) or vendor due diligence and monitoring their performance. * Resolving data breaches and managing breach notifications to the local authority as required. * Act as Data Privacy SME Help introduce and embed data privacy strategy and framework including new policies, procedures and processes to ensure regulations are adhered to. * Work closely with other business lines to make sure all Data Privacy initiatives are met. * Senior stakeholder management.
Required Skills and Experience: * Excellent understanding of applicable data protection regulations including the GDPR. * Proven practical experience in privacy. * Proven project management. Experience. * Ability to handle confidential information.
