The CIB Strategic Programme Delivery (SPD) group is an enablement function that reduces delivery risk for the most critical and high risk CIB programs. The group has proven critical in the coordinated delivery of major business initiatives such as MIFID II, Sanctions, NCMR, and GDPR. Current activities being managed by the group include Brexit, CIB record Retention, T+1 Liquidity Reporting and Consolidated Audit Trail.
The group is engaged in some of the the most critical programs, cross-LoB or single LoB, with a focus on risk, complexity and criticality. Whilst the majority of the delivery work is conducted within specific LoB technology teams, the SPD group provides a point of consolidated management across all technology streams, and into the business stakeholders.
The CIB Strategic Programme Delivery group was established to support execution of the most critical CIB Technology programs, ensuring they operate effectively and efficiently against commitments, enable change to our existing business, deliver key strategic cross-CIB change programmes and work across CIB to transform our technology business into its target state operation.
The vast majority of the SPD team are located in Bournemouth, and this role will provide a degree of oversight across the Bournemouth team as well as planning and coordinating the Book of Work for the group. This includes the early scoping of projects, defining key scope and engaging the right groups across CIB to initiate and execute the highest priority programs to the highest standards.
To manage the group effectively and efficiently, the role holder will also be responsible for building out a professional PMO function. This function will grow PMO as a career path, aimed at developing and providing a pool of PMO talent and expertise to the program execution teams. It will also develop and promulgate a set of best practice tools, templates, standards, governance structures that can be leveraged more widely across the firm.
The role will also coordinate with the EMEA Branches Technology lead to ensure a common approach to cross-branch / CIB programs and provide insight into CIB-wide initiatives that could impact the branches.

You will be responsible for partnering with CIB Business, Operations, and Technology Management Leads to ensure the group is well-positioned to respond quickly to new demand. This includes determining the relative priority of new activity that comes to the group for initial review and management, planning and managing cross-CIB program reviews, and providing visibility of the workforce plan to meet the future book of work requirements.
You'll be someone who makes things happen; has excellent communication and engagement skills; is passionate about team development, innovation and driving change; and can operate at the highest level. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing team managing critical, strategic, cross-asset, cross-CIB technology change. Significant track record of delivering change programs in a complex, multi-workstream matrix in global financial institutions. Examples would include major regulatory initiatives such as MIFID II.
Track record of developing effective Operating Models in a complex, multi-workstream change context in global financial institutions. Deep understanding of a broad range of product lifecycles to support effective program scoping and reviews. Functional expertise in one or multiple Markets business asset classes (preferably front office or middle office functions) is beneficial.
Experience in managing / building budgets, hiring plans and resource management
Proven ability to drive a program from Initiation through to Closure, defining clarity from ambiguity and managing stakeholder demands and expectations in an environment of ambiguous requirements (e.g. undefined regulation)
Proven track record of establishing appropriate oversight and control, metrics and driving and tracking optimisation opportunities by creating a continuous improvement culture.
Deep exposure to Markets solutions and business flows. Specific JPM knowledge and experience a benefit.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels, including ability to "tell the story" and communicate effectively with Senior Managing Directs to CEO-2 level. Ability to articulate complex ideas, plans and issue to a senior audience.
