Department Profile Enterprise Technology & Risk (ETR) is that global technology group that delivers the software and hardware technology solutions that make our businesses run. The team manages the production, operations, and engineering of our data centers, voice and data networking solutions, wireless technologies, server and database operations, desktops, servers and mainframes. Within ETR's End User Technology (EUT) Operations, we are looking for a motivated individual to join our core Level 3 Operations team who will automate tasks across our diverse portfolio of cutting-edge systems for the enterprise. This is a challenging position that combines knowledge of Microsoft Powershell with other Microsoft technologies such as Windows, Active Directory, Systems Center and other enterprise management systems. Ability to work with workflow automation tools such as Microsoft's Systems Center Orchestrator is required. Automation via compiled code is not required for this position and out-of-scope. Team Profile The Windows Server Operations group provides a stable, yet agile and dynamic infrastructure platform to support the business functional requirements whilst managing associated risks. The team has presence in several cities across the globe including Budapest and its responsibility is based around operational stability and production engineering of a large global Windows Server environment.
Primary Responsibilities - Maintain IT infrastructure, providing operational stability by following and using the tools, policies, processes and procedures available - Provide a secure environment, managing and mitigating risks - Resolve Incidents impacting hosts or systems - Investigate & Troubleshoot root causes via problem management - Identify areas for automation and scripting wherever possible - Work with Engineering groups to deliver value to customers
Skills Required - Windows Operating Systems, Server 2008 R2 and 2012 R2 - Understanding of virtualisation technologies for example XenDesktop, XenApp, vCenter, HyperV, AppV - Scripting skills (Powershell) - Clustering and Storage Management technologies for example, Microsoft Clustering, Veritas HA, SFW - Understanding of Network layers - Strong hardware knowledge (Configuration and Management) - Microsoft core services: DFSN, DFSR, DNS, AD, Printing
Skills Desired - Active Directory knowledge - Vulnerability Patching products for example IBM Bigfix and Microsoft WSUS - Systems Center SCCM/SCOM - Experience of Platform build/ OS installation tools
