The Communications Associate plays an important role in helping the Communications team deliver on its objectives. Broadly speaking, this involves working with more senior team members to develop the media profile of the different practice lines and business groups they support, coordinating with other shared service functions within the group marketing structure such as Web, Events and Marketing Content, as well as liaising with other key internal stakeholder groups such as Business and Relationship Management and the Investor Development Team. Responsibilities include:
Coordinate handling of incoming media interview enquiries with senior team members, as well as responding to requests for published research reports and commentaries
Broadcast media contact point for coordinating all analyst television and radio interviews
Over time, and under supervision of senior team member, proactive media outreach such as pitching analyst for broadcast media interview or a new research report for embargo or exclusive distribution
Ad hoc event support, partnering with colleagues in Web, Marketing Content and Events to maximize impact of media results for website, social feeds and related marketing collateral
Management of press lists, overflow support for team members with press release distribution when required
Compiling daily media summary
Media monitoring, measuring and reporting. This includes reading, understanding and interpreting press coverage and accurately accessing its importance and / or relevance. Helping to identify appropriate measurement tools and compiling monthly statistics as required
Compiling ad hoc campaign and monthly reports on media activity and results across Fitch Group as required
Writing projects under supervision of senior team member including pitches, press releases, white papers and op-eds
Assist with research on topical industry themes
Editorial calendars, including maintaining a regular and up-to-date features list
Dynamic self-starter with some PR work experience in an in-house or agency role, with clear desire to further develop a career in capital markets / financial services public relations
Comfortable assuming responsibility and accountability for projects which they will see through to completion; proactively contributes ideas and suggestions for the benefit of the team
Excellent writing skills and attention to detail
Adept at managing self, time and priorities effectively
A team player and good communicator who is committed to contributing to the broader Communications effort
Interested in professional development, such as through the Chartered Institute of Public Relations
