What you'll do
You'll be supporting both the strategic change program initiatives as well as the Technology Infrastructure Modernisation program with oversight to provide a credible challenge as required on program impact on the risk and control environment.
Oversee and challenge effective management of risks and controls within agreed risk appetite
Review and challenge to ensure the impact of the changes on the operational control environment is managed and associated risks mitigated
Ensure risk practices and behaviours are consistent with the bank's target risk culture where "risk is simply part of the way we work and think"
Provide advice to the business on risk management including providing relevant management information and reports, escalating concerns where appropriate
The skills you'll need
You'll need a strong Technology Risk & Control background, and experience working within areas with a primary focus on controls, following a strict escalation matrix for any exceptions and control gaps identified.
You'll also need:
Knowledge of the Financial Markets and NatWest Markets' businesses and operating model
A good understanding of Operational Risk framework and its implications with the ability to articulate a clear and concise written Operational Risk opinion taking into consideration different stakeholder audiences
Knowledge of the Regulatory environment pertaining to large, complex financial service organisations and a broad understanding of risk management disciplines in Financial Services
An understanding of change and transformation programme delivery
Influencing and creative skills to resolve complex problems and to identify alternative solutions
A good working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Word
Experience managing key stakeholder relationships both within and outside of Operational Risk
