Assist in the effort to conduct on-site operational due diligence of external investment advisors
Request and review various legal documents, polices & procedures, and other information from external advisors & follow up on outstanding questions and concerns
Develop an understanding of each external advisors' operational procedures and then prepare an agenda for an on-site meeting with the expectation of discussing related topics with key personnel from the external advisor
Coordinate the production and distribution of performance reporting, financial statements, and investor tax information
Assist in the on-site due diligence process, including: asking questions, site tours, qualifying answers to previously submitted questions, and detailed record keeping of the findings
Draft and finalize operational due diligence reports for internal risk group and investment teams highlighting areas of concern and steps for potential remediation
Develop a follow up plan about next steps to be taken by the firm and/or external advisor
Bachelor's degree from a top tier institution with 3.5 or above GPA
Measurable academic and career achievements with specific examples of the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Experience in prudent decision making, management of confidential information and completion of time sensitive tasks within fast paced environment
Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with strong attention to detail
2+ years of experience as either in auditing / accounting or fund administration or a position focused on operational due diligence
Familiarity with operational best practices and related securities regulations/laws
Well-versed in the operational aspects of an investment management firm including: legal, compliance, trading, settlement, operations, portfolio management, technology, security valuation, etc
Excellent writing, verbal and interpersonal skills
