RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS Duties: Vice President with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in Salt Lake City, UT. Perform operational escalation related to risk management of the firm's cash flows related to trading activities. Perform oversight of settlement functions, which includes support of trading/sales, regular client interactions, pre-settlement confirmation and discrepancy review , set up and approval of standing settlement instructions, settlement execution and approval of settlements performed by team members, resolving balance breaks and settlement fails, and managing the accuracy of the firm's books and records. Partner with Treasury and Liquidity to ensure accurate cash management and reconciliation related to settlement activity. Partner with Sales, Trading and Credit Risk Management teams to establish sufficient controls to ensure the settlement risk with counterparts is managed effectively. Work directly with the line teams to identify risk gaps and industrialization opportunities. Oversee Client Money Lock Regulations and ensure accurate adjustments and swings are investigated. Build and implement Firm polices for governing the settlement process to strengthen fraud prevention controls globally. Develop procedures and assist with building systems and controls to meet new client requirements, and on-board industry or regulatory initiatives (eg. 871m). Develop and coach members of the team by providing real time feedback and opportunities for progression. Responsible for recruitment, interviewing and recommendation of potential new hires to ensure adequate resources for managing the business risks. Manage ten (10) Analysts and Associates.
Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance or a related field (U.S. or foreign equivalent). Will accept any suitable combination of degrees and experience determined to be equivalent to a U.S. Bachelor's degree. Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related position in financial operations. Prior work experience must include two (2) years with the following: Experience in equity derivatives products offered to clients and the differences between markets and products as they pertain to US and cross-border derivative settlements and their settlement calculations. Experience in the different client settlement preferences for equity, financing and corporate action events requested by clients within the industry. Experience with SWIFT payment messages and formats, including general cash management and nostro reconciliation. Using Omgeo ALERT to capture standing settlement instructions for clients. Experience with the FinCEN Funds Travel Rule and how that applies to payment requests from clients. Applying knowledge of the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) Client Money Lock Up regulations to ensure clients funds are accurately locked up. Using Bloomberg for validation of equity prices and corporate action details for agreeing settlement amounts.
