RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, NY. Assist in planning, budgeting, scoping, leading and executing risk-focused and regulatory required reviews of the technology areas/processes within the firm's Investment Management (IMD), Global Investment Research (GIR), Investment Banking (IBD) and Merchant Banking (MBD) divisions. Assist in managing the design and execution of controls testing within the IMD, GIR, IBD and MBD technology areas and the validation and remediation of identified system control weaknesses, utilizing various techniques such as data analysis, code inspection, re-performance of processing logic, observation and interviews to evaluate the adequacy of technology controls; communicate scope, progress and results of audit reviews to internal technology and business stakeholders; document audit testing and results in a clear and concise manner. Identify risks associated with technology implementations, technology governance, privilege management, change management, including Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and data completeness and integrity controls. Assist in tracking, monitoring and recording remediation of risks identified in reviews. Coordinate with business auditors on integrated audits to assess business process and systems for mitigating financial, regulatory, and reputational risk within IMD, GIR, IBD and MBD. Assist in performing continuous monitoring and develop/maintain an in-depth understanding of technology areas/processes within IMD, GIR, IBD and MBD. Participate in internal initiatives and committees to enhance audit methodologies in order to improve effectiveness, efficiency and consistency.
Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Engineering or related field. Will accept single degree or combination of degrees/certifications and/or professional experience that are equivalent to a Bachelor's degree. Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Must have three (3) years of experience identifying technology risks and key controls in portfolio management, trading, compliance surveillance, middle and back office systems. Must have one (1) year of experience with: planning, budgeting, scoping and executing risk-focused and regulatory related audits (such as Volcker and CCAR) of technology areas/processes within asset management, private wealth management, investment banking and merchant banking businesses; audit techniques including data analysis, code inspection, re-performance, observation and interviews, including professional exposure to object oriented programming concepts and languages (e.g. Visual Basic), scripting languages (e.g. Python, SAS, R); data analytics tools (e.g. Structured Query Language (SQL), Qlik, Spotfire, and similar tools); database management systems (e.g. MS SQL Server); Operating Systems (e.g. Windows, UNIX) and MS Office tools (e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access); application security management, including user entitlements, authentication, accountability, data protection; System Architecture and Design: availability, performance, data integrity; Technology Operations: change management, data backup and retention; Technology governance: technology risk management, policies and procedures, rules, regulations and intellectual property; business users/auditors on integrated audits to identify, address, document and communicate risks and results related to key application controls to Internal Audit Management and Business and Technology Management.
