The Legal and Compliance Department (LCD) manages the legal, regulatory and compliance risks of GIC. LCD partners with the business to ensure that such issues and risks are dealt with in a considered, timely and efficient manner. In the course of your work, you can expect to work with top international and local law firms.
We are looking for a highly motivated, high calibre individual to join our Legal Division within the Public Markets/Corporate Services team as Senior Vice President.
Advising, reviewing and negotiating public market agreements, including: ◦ISDA master agreement, futures and futures options agreements, repurchase agreements, securities lending agreements, custody agreements and loan agreements. ◦investment management agreements and other fund related documentation, reviewing legal aspects of operational due diligence, drafting and negotiation of side letters and fund documentation terms with managers. ◦cornerstone agreements, placing documents and other deal related documentation.
Advising on a broad spectrum of legal issues arising from GIC's public market investment activities.
Advising and reviewing client and regulatory related matters.
Monitoring, reviewing and advising on regulatory compliance issues.
Liaising and consulting with international and local law firms on a variety of legal matters to support GIC's public market investment activities.
Contributing and promoting teamwork and collaboration within the Public Markets/Corporate Services team as well as among the broader LCD team.
Participating in and contributing to GIC-wide initiatives and projects as needed on a global basis.
You should have a law degree with strong academic results from a good university, with at least 13-15 years' relevant legal experience in public markets matters and excellent negotiating skills.
You must possess an analytical mind, have a good knowledge of commercial laws, and be a highly-motivated person who is able to work both independently and as a member of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
