What you will do The Individual will be responsible for providing the oversight of Operations teams' actions and output to ensure all directives from the Portfolio Managers and Trading team have been correctly executed and correctly reflected in the accounting book of records. They will work directly with Operations teams to ensure agreed controls are adhered to and that any business impacting issues are resolved in good time. They will also assist the Portfolio Managers and Administrators with any operational queries that require follow up or closure.
Provide oversight of Operation teams and escalate issues where appropriate
Ensure relevant information is provided to the Portfolio Managers and Administrators to ensure they are aware of any issues that will impact the integrity of the Portfolio or accounting book of records and review reports including but not limited to the following:
Fail Trade reporting
Overdrafts/projected overdraft reports
Eagle Vs CR/Aladdin Vs Custody exceptions
Any relevant internal or vendor platform output
Daily review of positions, market values and cash to validate accuracy.
Investigate any inaccuracies identified and their impact on Portfolio Managers, and coordinate directly with Operations teams to resolve
Monitor trades originated by the front office trading to ensure timely matching, confirmation and reporting.
Work with Operations team to address any trade discrepancies uncovered during the trade matching and settlement process.
Help serve as the liaison between the front office and operations teams to resolve any data or processing issues
Work closely with other NTAM partners in support of the business
Work as part of a local and global team with members based in London, Hong Kong, Chicago and India
Responsible for identifying and resolving problems within established procedural guidelines
Be risk averse by identifying process or business risks and escalate to line manager
Possess strong problem solving and analytical skills
Must have strong attention to detail
Excellent time management and organisation skills are essential
Ability to prioritise multiple work streams and meet tight deadlines
Proven understanding of asset management terminology and familiarity with investments instruments is essential
Thorough understanding of Operations functions and responsibilities
Excellent PC literacy required with strong knowledge of MS-
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a busy workload are essential
Self-motivated, able to think ahead and schedule tasks in good order
Ability to collaborate effectively with internal partners
Determination to identify and follow issues through to resolution
Flexible attitude and ability to change priorities quickly
Ability to influence other departments to deliver in a timely manner, with the tenacity to follow up on outstanding actions and drive results
Proven ability to quickly understand new systems. Both in-house and market data providers
Extensive experience working within an Asset Management house
Experience of working on passive Index mandates would be beneficial
Proven ability to work in a fast paced ever changing environment
In-depth industry knowledge with extensive experience of operational, middle office and front office support functions
Knowledge of Factset and Bloomberg systems an advantage
