Prepare account reconciliations and detailed analysis to support balance sheet accounts (i.e., accounts receivable, unbilled receivables, deferred revenue); identify and resolve variances
Reconcile sub-ledger systems to the general ledger
Analyze revenue and deferred revenue activity
Understand billing practices for each line of business
Be familiar with revenue accounting standards (i.e., ASC 606), US GAAP and SOX
Recommend improvements to the existing workflow and implement approved changes
Provide support on ad hoc projects including testing and documentation of current and new systems
Liaise with international offices to obtain general ledger information processed locally
Troubleshoot issues that arise in the department
Keep informed on issues that will impact billing, accounts receivable and revenue recognition processes
Understand and ensure compliance with internal controls and Moody's accounting policies with respect to their procedures
Additional duties / special projects as assigned by your manager
Global MIS Revenue Accounting
Bachelor's degree in Accounting / Finance required
5+ years related experience
Public accounting experience is preferred
Commenced or seeking professional qualifications is preferred
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
Knowledge of PeopleSoft financial system is a plus but not necessary
Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and perform in a quick paced environment
Strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills and attention to details are a must
Competent written and verbal communication skills
