The team is responsible for performing a variety of surveillance tasks with respect to the Bank's European operations, which may include Trade Surveillance, Communications Surveillance and Institutional Control Room. The team also represents Europe Middle East Africa Surveillance in global projects, including implementing surveillance of new products, exchanges and jurisdictions, as well as other enhancements to the effectiveness or efficiency of Trade and Communications Surveillance
Reviewing and investigating surveillance alerts in accordance with the relevant processes and procedures with a view to expand and improve existing coverage
Ensuring that all alerts are addressed and escalated in a timely matter
Escalating manipulative behaviour and identifying potential market conduct breaches including possible suspicious orders and transactions according to Market Abuse Regulations (MAR)
Testing the adequacy of controls in place
Producing high quality management information to key internal stake holders
Assisting in the development and improvement of trade surveillance systems
Assisting in the expansion of eComms surveillance and policies
Handling Ad-Hoc compliance enquiries (i.e. Front Office escalations and regulatory enquiries)
Skills & Qualifications:
Interest in financial markets and understanding of financial products including Equities and Derivatives
Understanding of relevant financial regulation (MAR, MiFID II)
Previous compliance/regulatory experience would be beneficial but not required
Previous surveillance or trading experience would be beneficial but not required
Ability in managing deadlines and ensuring adherence to regulatory/audit requirements
Strong presentation skills, both oral and written
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to network and build and maintain relationships
Educated to Bachelor degree level or have equivalent education/ relevant work experience
Personable with the ability to work with people from a wide variety of backgrounds and cultures
