We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Senior Control Manager, Control Expert, Operations International Markets.
Provide subject matter expertise in relation to the management of the Asia Pacific International countries Global Operations control environment within the context of the Operational Risk Management Framework
Oversee the end to end health of the control environment of the Global Operations Asia Pacific International countries
Lead internal trigger event and thematic control reviews and risk related regulatory engagement as the Global Operations controls Subject Matter Expert
Instigate and manage initiatives to drive improvements to the Global Operations control environment including the effective design of material controls
Partner with the Regional Head Of Business Services, International Countries and their management team to create effective design, analysis and remediation of control measures
Provide risk and controls consultancy, advice and guidance to the Global Operations teams in Asia Pacific International countries
Lead the application and critique of the Global Operations risk and controls framework
Ensure the appropriate application of policies control standards and procedures
Member of relevant governance forums, Audit and regulatory reviews and advocate the desired behavioural changes across the community required to mature the understanding and management of Global Operations risk control.
Drive the management of operational risk through the line management across Global Operations in the Asia Pacific International countries, ensuring they fully consider and consistently manages operational risk
Detailed understanding of Global Operations and the regulatory environment in Asia Pacific International countries
Comprehensive knowledge of Global Operations and how the function supports the four Global Businesses.
Excellent relationship management, and negotiation and influencing skills with experience of positive, challenging interactions with senior management
Experience of working in a matrix environment
Excellent understanding of, and experience in, managing operational risk.
Proven ability to present complex issues confidently and concisely to Senior Executives, Global HSBC Operations, Services and Technology Management team and key stakeholders using simple language and accommodating globally distributed stakeholders
Proven ability to distil complex and varied information into useful, insightful and concise recommendations.
Drive and self-motivation
Proactive and delivery focused to ensure individual tasks are completed on time and to the required levels of quality.
Ability and drive to successfully deliver multiple, wide ranging priorities, often under stringent time pressures in a dynamic environment
