Department Profile Shared Service Banking operations (SSBO) provide utility processing services to Global Operations. By functionalizing processes across segments, SSBO realizes efficiencies through scale, location strategy and adoption of best practices. SSBO provides quality operational core processes at an optimal price point, with maximum benefit to MS business lines. Services currently provided by SSBO include Cash Management, OTC Derivative and Security Settlements, Position Services, Reconciliations, Tax, Client Reference Data; AML Client & Transaction screening, Network Management and Vendor Management.
Team Profile The Payment Utility Team is responsible for facilitating cash wires for both derivative and non-derivative business units in compliance with the Firm's wire policy. The position requires daily collaboration with Operational Management, Cash Management, and Corporate Treasury throughout the day to diminish any risk exposure that may arise with wire transactions.
Position Description The Global Payment & Claims Utility supports Firm-wide payment initiation, authorisation, exception management and interest claims processing. The Utility is committed to offering service excellence and best-in-class payment solutions to our Clients.
The Utility processes multiple time critical instructions throughout the day, delivering a ?follow-the-sun? operating model. The team environment is dynamic, requiring members to adopt a flexible approach to ensure work flow is diligently managed and client service expectations are always met.
Primary responsibilities of this position include: - Supporting the initiation and authorisation of non STP (straight through processing) payments for multiple clients across various products line; - Exercising due diligence checks on payment requests; - Timely and diligent review and processing of payment exceptions; - Providing a critical escalation point for payment processing issues for internal clients and external counterparties; - Ensuring time sensitive cash payments are processed in a timely manner; - Acting as a process owner at all times, accountable for the delivery of work to the highest of standards; - Identifying opportunities for process improvement and enhanced risk control. This is an exciting role which will allow the candidate to acquire a unique understanding of how Morgan Stanley manages payment processing risk and delivers service excellence to our clients.
