Department Profile Global Financial Crimes (GFC) coordinates day-to-day implementation of the Firm's enterprise-wide financial crime prevention efforts. GFC includes several legal and compliance disciplines and has responsibility for governance, oversight and execution of the Firm's Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Economic Sanctions, Anti-Corruption and Government and Political Activities Compliance programs. GFC also develops and/or assists in the development of appropriate policies and procedures, including those designed to assist the business units to know their clients and conduct appropriate due diligence and to prevent, detect and report potentially suspicious activity. GFC has dedicated coverage managers and teams of analysts who advise and counsel each business unit regarding its AML, economic sanctions and anti-corruption obligations and its particular clients and transactions. Background on the Team The GFC team is 230 and growing with employees in countries around the world. The successful candidate will assist the Head of GFC Governance and the GFC Chief Operating Officer with resourcing and budget planning and monitoring.
Reporting Lines This role reports to the Head of GFC Governance.
Support GFC in annual strategic budget planning and spending, monthly financial updates, headcount management and special projects as needed including: - Work to develop GFC's annual budget, including spend for consulting projects, temporary support, training, legal expenses, travel and entertainment - Support budget monitoring with continuous tracking efforts - Review project requests against approved budget and monitor through completion - Create Major Expenditure Requests and monitor spend - Conduct money spend, G/L and other types of financial analyses and develop presentation materials - Investigate G/L and spend anomalies and liaise with Division controller for remediation of issues - Identify trends in spending and make forecasts for future budget needs - Suggest improvements to decrease spend - Track and monitor temporary resource engagements, including cost - Manage roster reflecting current headcount, open roles and incremental headcount
Skills required (essential) Candidates must: - Have minimum 3-5 years professional experience in financial planning and analysis - Have a 4 year college degree with outstanding academic credentials, preferably in accounting, finance, or business - Ability to analyze large data sets - Strong Excel skills and ability to understand and present department financial information - Strong project management skills - Have excellent time management skills and ability to execute tasks within tight deadlines - Have excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills - Have excellent interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with colleagues across regions and business units - Certification as an Anti-Money Laundering Specialist by ACAMS or equivalent AML certification/license - or certification within 15 months of hire
