We are looking for a highly motivated Client Relationship Manager to join our team!
Reporting to the Vice President, Head of Client Services, the Client Relationship Manager (CRM) plays a key role in maintaining and strengthening long-term partnerships with our clients. The CRM will serve as a key liaison in our business relationships with all clients, including large institutional client funds, and being a key member of the client service team representing the firm in various client meetings. This position combines the responsibilities of an investment generalist and client specialist to continuously support a client-centric focus throughout IMCO, where the objective is to consistently exceed the performance and service expectations of our clients.
As a Member of Our Team, You Will be Responsible For:
• Actively contributing to IMCO strategic initiatives that are linked to clients and prospective member organizations; offering client-focused perspectives and input on various internal projects that are serving to support the growth of IMCO as a best-in-class fund manager • Serving all aspects of the scope of services and requirements within client service agreements. • Understanding all aspects of the client profile including investment objectives, return expectations, risk tolerance, time horizon, liquidity constraints, liability obligations including actuarial funding status (if applicable), legislative constraints, key stakeholders, etc. • Ongoing contact and correspondence with institutional clients and building long lasting relationships. • Providing broad investment advice on investment policies, strategies and performance evaluation. • Preparing presentations and discussion documents as needed on various investment topics including investment policies, strategies and investment structure, asset class education and performance evaluation. • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge on IMCO’s various asset class programs and strategies. • Serving as a client advocate to all other client issues within IMCO.
• Identifying various opportunities to support growth and provide feedback within the team. • Supporting growth efforts as it relates to meeting with new prospective organizations and preparing appropriate materials to support discussions. • Interfacing and liaising with clients and internal teams actively during the onboarding process for new clients. • Working with client services team to uphold IMCO’s values of integrity, public purpose, respect innovation and collaboration.
What do you need to succeed?
• Business or Finance undergraduate degree with a minimum of 6-8 years of investment management experience. • CFA or MBA required. • Understanding of capital markets and role in achieving client’s financial objectives. • Demonstrated experience within institutional client-facing roles or consulting/advisory role is preferred. • Experience within the pension investment industry would be considered an asset. • Broad knowledge of various private market investments including real estate, infrastructure, private equity and debt would be considered an asset.
• In depth knowledge of institutional investment issues and trends within Canada and globally. • Passion for achieving clients’ investment objectives and needs. • Strong business judgment. • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with clients and team members. • Solid presentation and business writing skills. • Ability to work and collaborate across diverse teams and within a multi-stakeholder environment. • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills. • Demonstrates ability to manage competing demands with time-sensitive deadlines. • Passion for achieving clients’ investment objectives and needs. • Strong ability to adapt when faced with changes and new challenges.
