JobDescription : Title: Director - Strategic Alliances / Partnerships
The Role: S&P Global Platts manages a number of broad and complex relationships with organizations or individuals who are important to our ongoing success and market position, including market intermediaries, key influencers and channel partners. The Director of Strategic Alliances coordinates and drives S&P Global Platts global key influencers program and manages strategic global relationships with key partners. This role reports to the Global Head of Channel Management.
Global Key Influencer Program o Manage identification and categorization of key influencers by region, country, commodity sector o Coordinate engagement strategies and campaigns with Content and Sales management o Work with Finance to establish On Target Commission management process for identified key influencer accounts o Establish key influencer commercial program based on type, location and sector o Work closely with senior Content and Sales management to categorize and prioritize o Assess state of current relationship for high priority entities o Determine action plans for high priority entities
Manage S&P Global Platts Interdealer Brokers and Broker Relationships o Build, manage and maintain senior level relationships within broker community. o Working closely with Finance and Sales Management to direct commercial programs reflecting bilateral relationships with broker community. o Coordinate with Content leadership to facilitate in bound data requirements. o Develop financial models to support licensing negotiation. o Serve as central point of coordination for all global broker related activities between various S&P Global Platts commodity groups and geographic locations, ensuring efforts are streamlined and a consistent approach.
Channel Partner Relationships o Manage relationships with dedicated channel partners o Work closely with other Channel Managers and S&P Global Platts Sales & Sales leadership to coordinate regional engagement and relationships. o Act as Channel Advocate in go to market strategy debates o Manage contracting and defining commercial arrangements with news and content syndicators
Functional and Business Knowledge o A broad and in depth experience & knowledge of working in the energy, commodities and futures markets. Strong strategic and business development skills coupled with demonstrating ability to establish high level stakeholder relationships with clients, business partners, exchanges and regulatory bodies. To have a broad knowledge of the industry and the competitive landscape, as well as the need to develop a deep specialized knowledge of S&P Global businesses and products.
Problem Solving o Manages complex multilateral relationships & legal contractual situations and will be required to resolve challenging business and relationship problems as well as growing the S&P Platts Brand recognition coupled with the growth of Key influencers working with S&P Global Platts.
Interactions o Works regularly with regional business leads, internal partners as well as C-Suite executives in other organizations to develop new relationships and expand existing ones. Strong communication skills are needed and the ability to coordinate geographically dispersed teams and drive projects to completion.
Typical Scope & Impact o Commercial programs and relationships with intermediaries where we depend on each other for data and have mutual relationships with many customers is a key element to S&P Global Platts success. The majority of relationships are with Key Influencers, such as Ministries of Finance and Energy, key Trade Associations and Regulators who can make policy decisions and have oversight power that can materially affect our customers and our business. Effective management of dedicated Channel Partner relationships, with whom we collaborate to sell and deliver Platts products and services to customers around the world, is critical to S&P Global Platts ability to serve our customer and directly impacts our bottom line.
Minimum and Preferred Education o A Bachelor's degree in Economics, Math, Finance, Business or relevant experiences in those areas
Minimum and Preferred Experience/Skills o In depth and proven industry experience in Commodity and Financial Markets
