High Yield Credit Analyst—Generalist
Artisan's Credit Team, the firm's sixth autonomous investment team, is looking to expand its analyst pool. In this role, analysts focus on identifying undervalued debt across the entire capital structure in high quality businesses that offer the potential for superior risk/reward outcomes. The investment team is led by portfolio manager Bryan Krug who comes to Artisan with 17 years of investment experience and a strong track record. The team currently manages approximately $3.2 billion in assets.
The high yield credit analyst will support the portfolio manager in implementing the investment process. The candidate can expect to:
Conduct deep, detailed fundamental credit analysis across the capital structure of firms in the relevant universe
Evaluate a firm's business model, its competitiveness within an industry, and the industry's long-term health and viability
Actively monitor the existing portfolio assets
Foster and maintain relationships with external parties including company management and sell-side analysts
The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess:
Minimum 3 to 6 years of high yield credit experience in an asset management firm or bank
A strong understanding of cash flow modeling
The ability to make investment recommendations that are supported by thorough analysis
Strong interpersonal skills; the ability to work in a small, collaborative environment
A high level of initiative and an interest in building a top-tier investment franchise
