Location: London, New York.
The new Sustainable Finance team is a center of excellence for Green Finance and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) in S&P Global Ratings.
The successful candidate will lead thinking and analysis on Corporate Governance trends, issues and developments for the analytical teams at S&P Global Ratings. He or she will play a key role in developing our leading-edge analysis of the impact of governance on creditworthiness and financial performance over time, publish high quality and forward-looking research and act as a resource for analytical teams on complex governance issues.

Functions as a Senior Subject Matter Expert on governance across industries, and possesses a reputation both internally and externally as an expert on governance thinking and thought leadership. Demonstrates extensive knowledge and familiarity with current issues and industry trends.
Speaks for S&P Global on governance related topics.
Develops and leads ideas on papers across a broad range of issues for publication in S&P journals and other publications.
Advises other analysts on governance issues.
Develops and leads thinking on methodology enhancements and standards for governance risk, policy, and analytical deliberations, metrics and approaches.
Champions a culture of compliance, and possesses extensive knowledge of policies for self and others.
Functional & business knowledge
Acts as an industry expert and applies influential industry knowledge. Primary responsibility for developing and maintaining S&P Global's reputation as a respected thought leader on governance issues. Demonstrates strong influencing skills across departments and practices, leads the development of material (for market engagement, reports, and press releases), confidently moderates the discussion with issuers, and actively engages in investor outreach activities. . Has leadership presence and fosters collaboration, provides leadership to make things happen and creates accountability for execution
Encourages others to speak up when necessary and acts as a role model.
Bachelor's degree required; an advanced degree preferred plus Level 1 & 2 certification.
10+ years in financial services, professional services and/or consulting.
Advanced presentation and communication skills.
A track record of delivering analytical expert opinion on governance.
Strong relationship building, communication and influencing skills.
Self-starter, with ability to multi-task across different areas & multiple priorities.
Strong curiosity and desire to explore change, ability to think outside of the box and to anticipate issues and execute.
Problem solving ability: Work effectively & collaboratively and guide others through complex problem solving.
