This newly created position resides within Singapore-based Regional Cards & Loans organization as Credit Strategy Manager for Cards & Loans in Asia Pacific. The successful incumbent will have hands-on experience and expertise in credit policy within consumer lending in any geography. The individual will have deep understanding of Risk-Reward trade-off and ability to leverage for credit policy enhancements across customer lifecycle. In order to accomplish the goals, the individual will come up with hypothesis, conduct analysis to make recommendations for the Region. The individual will be fluent in communicating strategy results to senior management and to regulators. He/She will also interact with diverse set of stakeholders both within the Countries and the Region and should be comfortable in speaking in risk, analytical, and business terms. Key responsibilities include:
Identify new policy optimization opportunities and lead the credit analysis and proposal discussions. Partner with the local Country risk teams to implement and execute.
Conceptualize and install newer risk testing opportunities across the Region. Own the monitoring framework to ensure insights are well understood, communicated, and acted upon.
Help represent, defend credit strategy framework with internal & external regulators and other stakeholders.
Manage and monitor line management programs for all Countries. Conduct targeted analysis to seek improvements and efficiencies in how lines are allocated.
Re-imagine line strategy in the consent-world and find ways to better service customers, optimize profits, manage losses - all while adhering to global & regulatory policies.
Partner with Risk offshore team(s) to execute on risk analytical workstreams.
The ideal Candidate will meet the following requirements:
Solid understanding of lending, P&L drivers, and business strategies and portfolio performance implications.
Business or engineering or related background. 7yrs+ credit policy, strategy, or related experience in management consulting or a lending institution with deep risk-reward understanding.
Past experience in supporting regulatory and internal governance stakeholders.
Well-rounded individual with solid business understanding, risk expertise, comfortability with data with ability to communicate effectively - all to influence the direction of the business.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be able to prepare presentations for executive level audience
Good business acumen and the ability to connect analytics with business decisions
