Department Description The CIB Chief Data Office (CDO) is accountable for transforming the approach to managing data to create an industry-leading data environment in terms of control, cost, and efficiency. The program scope continues to evolve and encompasses cultural, behavioral, procedural and systemic transformation across the full range of data domains (such as reference, market and transaction).
The successful candidates will join a team focused on transformation of data quality management within the CIB and be responsible for supporting the strategy and execution of Chief Data Office's initiatives.
The role will require working with stakeholders across the CIB, looking to leverage best practice across the industry and other J.P. Morgan business units.
Key roles and responsibilities:
Delivery and implementation of the Firmwide Data Quality (DQ) Standards and Operating Model
Influence the design and contribute to the implementation of the DQ standards and Operating Model
Liaise with the Firmwide and CIB CDO teams to develop DQ in context of the wider data governance process, e.g. data ownership, data sourcing, data lineage, metadata and definition.
Plan for Firmwide Operational Risk and DQ convergence for Issue Management
Design Operating Model for converged Operational Risk and DQ Issue Management
Influence stakeholders across Corporate/Firmwide, Finance, Risk, Compliance, Oversight & Controls and Operations to obtain agreement to proposed Operating Model
Plan and execute migration strategy for transitioning DQ Issue Management onto the Operational Risk platform
Implement and enforce the Data Quality (DQ) Management practices across the CIB:
Accelerate data quality issue level root cause analysis and resolution through effective program governance, process management and issue level X-LOB triage
Communicate and train CIB staff on DQ principles and process.
Liaise with SMEs across the LoB within the CIB on DQ issues to ensure timely resolution
Review the DQ issue input to ensure it is of adequate
Conduct DQ thematic reviews, to establish systematic DQ problems
Perform project management and business analysis on other data related projects as required.
Project management and Business analysis experience.
Experience of Data Governance principles would be advantageous
Experience of the Operational Risk & RCSA process would be advantageous
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication, presentation (both oral and written) & influencing skills to MD level
Confidence in communicating internally at all levels; candidate will be dealing with stakeholders of varying degrees of seniority (up-to Managing Director level) across Corporate/Firmwide, Finance, Risk, Compliance , Operations and Technology teams.
Effective change management skills. Ability to support & adopt within a changing environment.
Self starter, able to work autonomously, with strong time management skills; efficient at multi-tasking and able to work under pressure to deliver multiple business demands on-time, to a high standard
Basic understanding of the company's business practices and familiarity with the company's products and services
Capacity to think laterally and convey an understanding of the big picture
Strong practical experience of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word etc
