Description: The Geo-Technician is responsible for mapping & spatial data manipulation of oil & gas asset data provided by clients or derived from public third-party sources, and assisting in mapping-related activities associated with asset divestitures, capital markets and M&A mandates, as well as development of new business activities for Citi's Energy A&D and Investment Banking teams.
Detailed responsibilities as follows:
Technical surface and sub-surface mapping of oil and gas assets (Isopach maps, structure maps, well locations, production trends, heat maps, etc.) including:
Professional slide generation using Power Point
Client-ready maps for desk top discussions
Preparation of data room montages based on data supplied by clients or public sourced
Download public data from sources such as IHS and or DI, quality check, manipulate and map
Construct fundamental maps such as tops and thicknesses from Petra
Construct field drilling development maps
Assist in building Petra projects and conduct elemental mapping requests
Assist in loading and quality control of logs for input into Petrophysical software (Techlog) Business Development duties:
Assist in constructing maps, cross sections, heat maps, etc.
Assist in building and maintaining basin study books, maps, etc.
Assist in maintaining strat sections, type logs, and other basic maps for basins as needed
Assist in maintaining well level data in Spotfire
Bachelor's Degree or special industry training
5+ years' experience working as a Geo-Tech in the oil and gas industry
Technical oil and gas Geo-Tech experience (mapping of relevant variables in the subsurface and ability to manipulate data for mapping)
Good understanding of oil and gas concepts as they relate to geotechnical applications
Ability to optimize data/map views and mapping solutions
Basic computer skills including, but not limited to: ArcGIS, Petra, Microsoft Office products, data bases, Spotfire, Techlog and other technical oil and gas software
Discretion and professionalism dealing with confidential matters
Ability to work independently and in a team setting
Ability to work in accordance with established policies and procedures
Flexibility and willingness to work overtime as required
Organizational and time management skills
Ability to efficiently set priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Beneficial to have exposure to oil and gas acquisitions & divestitures activity
