UK Compliance Manager - Global Private Equity (Previous FCA experience is essential)

Our client is a very successful global private equity firm. They have created a new UK Compliance Manager role, reporting into their Global Head of Compliance.
Key responsibilities include: maintaining a detailed knowledge of the relevant FCA regulations and handbooks, ensuring that business managers are kept up to date with any regulatory changes and developments that impact their area; providing advice and guidance to business managers as regards to new business initiatives and business changes; ensuring that all planned and ad hoc monitoring activity is carried out in accordance with the monitoring procedures and that all issues identified are properly reported and ensuring that relevant individuals are equipped with sufficient knowledge of the relevant legislation and regulations to carry out their activities in a compliant manner and providing high quality compliance training on regulatory issues where appropriate.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter, possess excellent academics, a proven UK compliance background gained in asset management, banking or private equity, they will have previously worked for the FCA, they will need to demonstrate a good understanding of the UK regulatory environment and regulatory developments, strong project management and stakeholder management skills and the ability to prioritise and meet strict deadlines in a fast paced and pressurised environment. Please note that previous experience of working as a regulator for the FCA is essential. Working knowledge of private equity and/or alternative investments would be very useful.
