A leading elite boutique investment bank is currently searching for a motivated and experienced Associate to join their Consumer team located in New York City. This team focuses on M&A advisory across different sectors of the Consumer industry. This firm is currently in a high expansion mode and is growing their team throughout North America which plays a key role in their global expansion efforts while maintaining their top of the line reputation. The Associate will be responsible for being an active member of client and deal teams throughout all assignments ranging from client development, cultivation of public and private corporate clients, marketing initiatives and private equity sponsors to the actual execution of M&A within buy and sell side transactions.
Conduct live deals throughout sell and buy-side M&As, spin and split-offs/carve-outs, LBOs, Debt Advisory and Equity Advisory.
Develop financial models and conduct comparable, valuation and relative value analyses in addition to market specific analysis with modelling and associated outputs and sensitivities.
Work in a high-pressure environment and successfully complete projects with tight deadlines.
Engage in projects requiring thorough quantitative and qualitative company, economic and industry research and analysis.
Conduct analysis of various corporate finance transactions for reviewing alternatives, acquisitions, optimal capital structure, mergers and capital markets events in both debt and equity markets.
Create client pitches and market materials with detailed information regarding key acquisitions, disposals, mergers, refinancing and equity capital market alternatives, in addition to internal documentation through collaboration with both internal and external resources.
Actively partake in client meetings, external training sessions and industry conferences.
Comply with company regulations and confidentiality processes.
Active contribute to promoting a healthy firm culture and actively engage in development, recruiting and training efforts.
Bachelor's Degree in Finance from a top academic institution.
MBA Degree from a top academic institution (Preferred).
Minimum of a 3.5 GPA.
Prior experience with a top-tier Investment Bank or Corporate Finance Advisor dealing with M&A.
Advanced analytical, communication and quantitative skills.
Prior experience with analyzing financial statements and relevant data to assess prior financial performance and accurately assess future outlook for client companies and relevant prospects.
Advanced financial modeling skills; must be able to build detailed, integrated financial models and projections and effectively analyze the potential impact of proposed transaction options on capital structure and cash flows.
Must be organized, detail-oriented and able to thrive with tight deadlines.
Must be able to work productively within a team and able to engage with cross-border deal teams.
